OG Vincent
When I was a kid (around 9 or 10) I started drawing this artist skunk. He wore glasses and a french beret and a stereotypical cartoon artist’s smock. I asked my dad to give him a name and he came up with “Vincent Van Stop” (get it?). I drew Vincent ALL THE TIME! He took over my life for a while, haha. I really wish I still had my old Vincent comics and drawings, this sketch is my best attempt at how I remember drawing him (he had a longer nose maybe? the way I drew the eyes, glasses and outfit are correct as far as I can remember though). At the time, I even got s stuffed skunk plush and made him Vincent’s outfit (as well as I could with the materials on hand) and I drew his glasses on his face with a Sharpie marker.
Anyway, last year when I was yearning for a kemonomimi character of my own (human with animal traits such as ears and tail) somewhere deep in my subconscious Vincent must have been screaming to be let out again because I drew a skunk boy.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to call him or what to do with him at the time, but Vincent popped into my mind again and I decided that this new character had to be a new updated version of my old friend. :)
One year later and my new version of Vincent is still going strong. I’ve written multiple stories for him, I’m working on a comic of the first story right now and it will be going up publicly in a little over a week (hopefully). Depending on how well it’s received I may illustrate more of my Vincent stories. I really hope you all have been enjoying them!
