This is the outro solo to a song by my favorite band, Pantera. It is a sequence of add 9 chord arpeggios. I added a simply root bass line to fill out the mix. I just decided to do this and knocked it out very quickly, so it is a bit rough.
I used my Les Paul and my Ibanez bass for this recording, through my Line 6 Pod XT into Garageband on my computer.
I played this in a different key than on the record because on the record the guitar is tuned down a whole-step to D standard tuning. I didn't feel like tuning down so I played it in (E) standard tuning.
It was written by the guitarist for Pantera, and my hero (for reasons other than his music), Darrell Abbott, who was colloquially known as "Dimebag".
