I wanted to practice glow effects, and this pic is what ultimately came from that. Still got a lot of work ahead of me in that regard, but overall I think I did a good job, especially with the eyes.
Also, could this be a sneak peak of a character that'll show up down the line? MAYBE!?

I'm mostly familiar with the submission/description quote thanks to TV Tropes. He who fights monsters... and given the quote and the associated trope, I'm thinking Neutral Evil on her. I think I mentioned to you a long while ago that I have difficulty liking villainous Eeveelution characters (a certain polymorphic Eevee comes to mind I confess), even more should they betray their own kind. On the... relatively bright side, I see her as having potential for an excellent anti-heroine, and am hoping as such. Lawful- and even Neutral-Evil characters are more than capable of being anti-heroes, just with heavy focus on the "anti." Note that this is all speculation, and as such I do not want it either confirmed or denied, and that it's up to us to see how you'll develop her.
On the character herself, on top of her fairly simple alternate ring design and her blue eyes, I like that you kept her with normal colors. There are a lot of shinies and other recolors out there, but I suppose there are a lot of Umbreons in general. Third-highest tag-count on e621 IIRC. It's just me really, but I find it refreshing to see a normal Umbreon every once. I myself usually don't go beyond subtle variation in design, but I'd like more OCs to be varied in this fashion.

I do have some character plans aligned along some of your speculations - some which haven't been touched. She's still a WIP, but I do have ideas ready to go with her.
and yes, I do have a bit of a fondness for Umbreon's normal colors despite liking the shiny version as well. I've always preferred gold (or yellow) and black - something bright and shiny to counter the heavy dark.
