Technically these work like any other commission. They sketched out the poses, but they still needed to be edited to fit the winners' characters. It also takes time to work on bigger pieces like this, especially with multiple characters and the background. Every artist is entitled to price their work as they deem fit, and for their artwork I dont blame them for the price. I do see why you ask, but this is an original piece and not a preused base, so its worth more too.

You realize that OP drew the base outline, correct? This isn't some random drawn base that she found online. Also, her normal commissions are open as well, so no one at ALL is -FORCED- to be in this pose. It's a way to get really nice art for a discounted price, and a chance to be in a group with people. Also, she said she can alter bodytypes and such to fit the pose, no one is being told they can ONLY be in those lines.

People do this as A JOB, my dude. Not to 'make people feel happy'. OP isn't going to pay her bills and stay off the streets by lowering their prices to dirt cheap.

Why are you even on here if you don't have any interest in the auction? Just judging off your decorum here, not to mention your subtle commission pushing, I would personally NEVER commission you. Stop trying to make people feel awful for charging a decent price for their skill. It's gross.

Ok hmm.... The thing is, behind the scenes I spend hours researching and sketching poses and resketching to get things right. If someone doesn't want to AB the slot, they don't have to. They can commission me. I have commissions open all the time so people are in no way forced to bid on this YCH just to get art from me.

"People can choose from only YOUR poses not what they might imagine 100% freely" -> If a person likes the pose, they can bid on it. If they don't like any of the poses, they can commission me. I also have ZERO CONTROL over how a person chooses to spend their money. If they want to spend money on Slot A and AB it, that's their own choice, that's what they wanted. If they decide to spend their money on a pic of mine instead of some other artist's cheaper commissions, that's THEIR choice and they can do what they want.

And if the person doesn't want this YCH because it's a group pic, they can WAIT until I release another YCH and see if it's a single person. A lot of what you're saying is based off of speculation that you know what the customers want, and to be quite honest, not one customer is the same. You can't say "a customer wouldn't want to do this or that" when you don't know any of those people personally and what they might be thinking.

Also YES, art is a luxury. A person is not forced to spend money on art if they don't want to. They choose to save up for an artist that they like, and they spend their money on that artist. I shouldn't have to be forced to lower my prices just because some people can't afford it. If you can't afford this YCH [which... it's an auction so like I said before, it only goes as high as the people want it to go] you have the option of buying a CHEAPER commission from me. I offer a lot of different prices for people based on headshot, sketches, halfbody, etc.

And I'm sorry lol but I don't do commissions for important messages, positive vibes, cheering someone up,etc. I do commissions because it's my fulltime job and I'm keeping a roof over my head and paying bills. So yeah if you get cheered up while looking at my commissions, that's nice, but that's not my main prerogative. Art is what literally keeps me alive and sheltered and fed.

What kagura said! Also there's never any guarantee that the bids will go up as high as the ABs, so it depends solely on the customers how much they'd like to pay :0

Self proclaimed "artists" who go on other profiles and complain about prices //just// so they can simply point out, "but mine are cheaper ~" are incredibly unprofessional and disgrace any sort of entitlement to being a professional. Nice subliminal advertisement but it's completely noticeable and its actually pissed me off quite a bit.

Also yes, I quit my job about 8 months ago and I've been working on art as my main job! It definitely takes dedication and persistence.

Oooh I see. I'm happy its all working out well for you!! I was fired from my job two months ago, and still struggling to find a job (took six months just to get that one @-@) due to health problems from a past injury. I was prom my job back after some appointments and I was cleared, but now they've even blocked my number after only calling once to ask about my last paycheck (which I received two weeks after bills were due DX). I've wanted to gain some income from my art for a long time, but I'm still learning how to start that process lol.

I started out doing YCHs like 4 times a week. That's where I got like 90% of my art income from.
I actually don't get commissions often lmfao, it's usually the YCHs that people wait for :0
But I def recommend ychs and adopts and stuff
