A true knight serves to protect the innocent, regardless of when or where they are summoned. Even if the call for help directs a knight into the middle of a raging blizzard, they must answer the call with a heart of dedication. That is what it means to truly be a knight.
In the cold lands of Nixia, Sir Gallade has been requested to aid a small village in troubling times. Whenever nighttime falls upon the fields of snow, savage beasts descend from the mountaintops to raid the defenseless village. Their supplies have been stripped from them, and many innocent villagers are carried off each night. On their last legs, the village finally sought help from outside of Nixia to save them.
Sir Gallade now stands, just outside the village, waiting for the sun to drop behind the mountains. As he stands by the nightly raid to begin, he ponders what his friends and family may be up to back home. Finally, as the sky darkens and figures begin to cascade down the icy slopes, Sir Gallade's hand finds its way to the hilt of his sword. Better to make this quick, he had people waiting for him back home.
