Welp, I've got nothing to say today. I actually am in a bad mood. I won't say why. Doesn't matter. I don't want pitty. Just know that I'm pissed, but not because of which choice won. No, I think that I'll keep that a secret until after Kindel loses.
What? Did you really expect any other result? Junior's 2-0 here. He's on a winning streak!
Now when I do reveal it, I'm also going to include examples of what could have been, so that the rest of you can have a bad day too.
Oh, which reminds me. What exactly would Kindel wish for? Hm…… I did not do a good job at hinting what that would be.

As someone who knows this game, that makes the next page much more interesting. I don't think I should go into detail, because it might be a spoiler, but knowing what game he picked: Kindel might deserve his punishment.
Also, what in the world is? I thought he was a cat, but looking at the tags, he might be a gerbil.

Nah, it's okay. I mean, Patty already said in a previous strip, that "it's a game that can guarantee victory, if you know how." I'm not going to tell who won for another week or so, but I know what you mean. I addressed this before, but basically, there is no such thing as a "guaranteed victory". There are ways around it.
Also, yes he's supposed to be a Gerbil. Specifically a long tailed gerbil. But he wound up looking a bit too much like a mouse… of course, in a future strip he'll be called something else by Junior.

There are such things as solved games. Games where if you follow the rules and each player makes the best move they potentially can, a person could always know who would win with either 100% certainty to win.
The rules of Nim does not allow the second player to win if the first player plays ideally.
With tic tac toe, if I go first I can always either win or draw regardless of what my oppenent does.
Explaining every possible outcome would take a long time, but basically you can almost set it up so that you can make two possible three in a rows, at which point your oppenent can only stop you from doing one, while you can always block or force them to block your moves.
Making a rigged game is easy, the only hard part is obsurcing how you rigged it so the other person doesn't realize you just con'ed them.

And I don't disagree, but the important parts are
1) Consealing how you rigged it. (Pentalty Game will know if you cheat. But technically this wouldn't be cheating, unless you're trying to lose.)
2) Playing perfectly (who knows, one of them migh mis-take a card)
3) Actually finishing the game (Yugioh season 0 was notorious for this.) Remember the game isn't won until it's over.
