Blue Macaw's Logo Bunch #111 - TV Channels #43
Welcome back, Nick fans. Today on Nickelodeon Logo Bunch, we have one regular old logo and one Nick Jr. logo to show you. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. First up on this episode, we have a logo requested by FaIIenShadows from Domain of the Wolf, including her character, Codiac (or Cody). Since she's been a fan of Sherlock Holmes, I decided that this logo would interest her. And the one that I picked for her was this Nickelodeon logo in Magnifying Glass form. This is one of those logos that came out of a comic book which for this one was Issue #29 of the Ren & Stimpy comic books made by Marvel. To get you a synopsis of this issue (Defective Detective Issue), it's your typical Sherlock Holmes parody story where Ren (as Sherlock Hoëk) & Stimpy travel to Scotland as they team up with Haggis McHaggis to solve the case and arrest Nessie, who, of course, been causing this case. And it makes sense to feature this logo in the front cover of the issue. Now the logo itself is very simple. It's like if you take a random circle and add a handle on the bottom left. Now the only thing that takes it away from being an actual magnifying glass is, of course, the glass part of the logo, because without it, it just came out as a custom shape. But all in all, still a simple logo. FaIIenShadows, if you're a fan of comics, you have to check out these Ren & Stimpy comics, they'll surprise you and even Codiac would be delighted to find out a Sherlock Holmes verison of it. Next up is another old Nick Jr. logo from 1988-1993. Since I did the regular Nick Planet logo, we're gonna blast back off into space to check out the Nick Jr. version of the Planet logo, requested by Kintanga and featuring her characters, Kite and Bowie from The Ashenguard Wolf (which I'm excited for more updates soon) playing with the pups. The logo itself, like all other Nick Jr. logos from 1988-1993, is very simple. For example, the Nick part of the logo kept its Saturn-like design from its original logo, but then you have Jr. over here. Its part contains a simple circle only with a flower planted on top. Maybe a new galaxy was born for Jr. This logo can often be seen on any Nick Jr. commercials including the ones for Fred Penner's Place and the Next bumper for Today's Special. Well, we checked out both galaxies on Nick logo bunch (well, almost all of the planets) and it's so cool discovering them. That's all the time we have for Nick Logo Bunch! Tune in next time as we cover more Nickelodeon/Nick Jr. logos we remember from our childhood.
