Been trying to get back in the swing of things after all that's been going on... First thing on my list was to finish this ridiculous painting =P
I swear I must be a masochist or something... This is likely one of the most intricate backgrounds I've ever attempted and it took bloody forever to finish. Right now I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I'm usually like that after staring at the thing for hours on end. Hope it turned out well for the time I put into it =)
A tigress wades into a jungle pond to bathe, enjoying the sun streaking through the canopy and the dense vegetation surrounding her own little sanctuary.
She will be at AC09 =)

Ooh! She's very cute and very fluffy. ^^
This piece really calls out to me. The colors are inviting, but not so bright that they overwhelm the eye for this particular setting. I really like the colors you chose for the water because it's a refreshing step away from the usual crystal clear, bright blue I see in images involving water. I don't think the ripples or the translucency of her body showing through under the water's surface could have been done any better than what is seen here.
I know that feeling all too well of being unsure of my own satisfaction once a drawing is completed, but the time you put in to the background shows you really cared for this piece. The wonderful sunlight filtering in behind her and the fur texture on her body are also superb details you've captured.

^.^ Thank you for the wonderful comment! I'm glad to hear that the details I slaved over made a good impression. Also happy that the water turned out, it's one of the first times I've worked with that subject. Always nice to hear from an admired artist as well, so thank you =)
I like the way you chose to cloth her, very jungle. I getting a feel that she's there waiting for someone special and they are on the approach now. She seems pleased by whatever she sees right now. Of course it may just be some dinner species coming for a drink.
The light effect gives a good feel of sunlight through leaves. I have a woodlot on my farm so i know of what I speak.

*is struck speechless*
Oh wow, I really don't know what to say except what everyone else has already been saying. This is an absolute and total masterpiece! I can imagine it took you totally forever to finish it, but every bit of work you poured into this unbelievably gorgeous painting completely shows! As soon as I faved and saved this one, I went to my configuration screen and set it as my desktop wallpaper, because I want to look at it ALL the time! =^_^=

Keep on going with the backgrounds. I think those are just as important as the character when it comes to full page compositions like this, especially ones that are made for hanging. If it's just an abstract BG, it can take a lot out of it. It works for some pictures I suppose but the best ones are those like this.
Always worth it. Too few people bother with backgrounds nowadays. It's just photoshop generated effects and boom, done. Blarrr. WTB more like this, that's all I can say. Make some smexy foxies (tribal, new age, whatev :P) and I'll prolly be buggin ya for prints. ^_^
What more is there need to be said what others already have.. I'll try to be creative!
First off, good job on the tiger girl and the background, the green really works well with her fur colors and the eyes as usual are very nicely done, her posing and her facial expression make it really complete.
Looks very alive ^^
I'd say, keep it up, you're doing great ^^
