With the general public being fed a steady diet of romantic fantasy images http://www.furaffinity.net/view/912168/ and sexy pinups http://www.furaffinity.net/view/946093/ all the time, it can be easy to forget that Rosemary was just a little kid once.
These images are from a dream I had over a decade ago when I had first met her. We were starting know each other better and she told this story about going to the park with her parents. While she was there running around she saw some ducks and ran over to look at them. Now Rosemary has always had a big pompadour and very large fluffy tail and has always been very proud of them. Apparently one of the ducks thought it would be fun to grab hold of her tail and being a little kid she thought the duck was going to eat it! Therefore she made a beeline back to the safety of mom! Now I now that laughing it was probably not the best thing to do at that moment but I just couldn't myself at the time. Needless to say she was grumpy with for while afterwards.
The funny thing is that I've seen ducks and geese do this tail-pulling trick in real life. Years ago at park near us there were some domestic geese who had picked up this habit as a form of entertainment and would grab dogs tails all the time! What was even more amazing is that instead whipping around sinking their pointy canine teeth into their tormentors feathery hide, the usually response from most dogs was to take off in a straight line back to their owner leaving the goose to enjoy the spectacle unharmed. Eventually some of the ducks even picked up the pastime!

First of all: Cute.
Second of all, big fan of your work, and I'm a little curious about something. You often refer to meeting your characters and the 'dreamscapes' they inhabit. Am I correct in assuming that you pay visits to them via Lucid Dreaming?
If so, I'm super jealous; been trying to learn Lucid Dreaming off and on for about 2 years now, and still no luck. I'm waiting on the Novadreamer 2 dealie to help improve my odds.:S

To answer your second question you are correct about lucid dreaming. About 75% of all the work I've posted on FA comes from my dreams. In fact in many ways my sketchbooks are more like dream journals where catalog and record my sleep activities.
Since I was child I've been able to remember my dreams in fairly fine detail. When I got into college I discovered lucid dreaming and self-hypnosis. Through some experimenting I was able to come up with a system of auto-suggestion that seems to help the process. The one thing that I believe is different from many lucid dreaming methods is that I don't try to control the entire dreamscape. Instead I'll suggest to myself before going to sleep " I'd like to talk to Petina again." and often that will create the conditions in which I'm able to see her. Also since many of my dreams involve an overarching plot line I can suggest to myself that I want to see what happens next in the story and then let my subconscious continue the tale.

Yeah. Just stay away from anything with "Psychic Powers" or some such nonsense.
"Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen Laberge is the book I'd recommend on the subject. He's the major force behind current Lucid Dreaming studies, and he backs up most of what he says with science and laboratory work.
There's also free sites such as these:
www.ld4all.com
www.dreamviews.com
But as Mr Coon up there said, take them with a grain of salt. Their guides on getting started is mostly accurate, but a lot of the stuff they talk about is pretty out there.

Oh, yes. Lucid Dreaming does tend to receive a lot of connections to crystal-waving 'hoonah hoonah' type stuff.
My favorite title was something along the lines of "Lucid Dreaming: Unlocking your psychic powers through dreams", or something like that.
That's why I tend to stick to books written or endorsed by Stephen Laberge; he usually has the science to back his claims up.

Don't underestimate waterfowl. Birds in general can be quite vicious. Bluejays and cardinals and others have been known to attack housecats that threatened their territory, often chasing the poor felines home. (I've seen this personally.)
If you think about it, any bird that can fly has a lot of strength in its wings. Larger ones, such as most waterfowl (ducks, geese) have enough strength to lift all that weight off the ground by pushing on nothing but air. Beaks aside, geese have been known to break the bones of people they beat on with their wings.
But considering that "chased by a goose/duck" shows up from time to time on America's Funniest Videos -- yeah, I'd tell Rosemary I was laughing at what happened, not at her.

Well some of my characters talk directly to me. Others i follow around as the silent, invisible cameraman filming their daily lives and stories. Rosemary is one of the characters that I have an actual physical relationship with. Also I've had dreams with her in them since 1993 so I have a lot of stories to tell about her.
