Yeah, outside of a few movies (Van Hellsing and Dog Soldiers come to mind), movie werewolves tend to look bloody awful.
I especially hate the 'wolfman' variety - where their "transformation" basically entails them growing slightly more hair and slightly bigger claws/teeth (if they want to really stretch their budget).
Anyway, nice work.

Always wondered why do werewolves in movies are so pathetic and furless. Especially in ones like harry potter, where overall CG was already good - so one can't explain it with an unability to draw good and believable fur. These bold creatures are neither scary nor "wild", just... "eww I expected more"
I always found it really odd that some movie werewolves looked so pathetic, furless, and almost ape-like even. For something that's supposed to be a monstrous humanoid wolf, they sure didn't strike me as scary at all. More laughable than anything. But maybe that's partially on me and my wild imagination since I read a lot of stories back then and imagined werewolves in a whole different way, haha. Needless to say, the right one is my preferred werewolf form.
Everyone told about VanHelsing's werewolves and I'm like "waaait but Underworld lycans are fucking great, too".
what abouy Gingers Snaps or tvserie "Being Human" (both ver)?
I think we have more "fluffy and strong" werewolves close to this big guy in picture but... yeah, furry/anthro fandom still make them More.
anyway, this is really funy and great picture.

Was about to say the same thing myself. The thing that gets me, though, is that the "warform" wolf (crinos) is supposed to be near-uncontrollably violent, something you only use when the correct answer to most questions is ripping out a throat...and yet we see TONS of art depicting Garou in that form doing totally relaxed everyday activities like talking, stargazing, or simply standing majestically. It's weird.
I think movies are usually trying to play up the "abomination" angle, and therefore tend to feature the sort of twisted half-breed on the left for horror reasons. When you're designing a character who has a purpose beyond murderous savagery, though, the guy on the right is the way to go, IMO.
well... there are some exceptions :3 http://orig09.deviantart.net/2908/f.....ic-d4297ts.jpg
