I doubt grass can grow in a subway, but it looks pretty.
I wanted to do something sorta post-apocalyptic that would be the absolute antithesis of the 'brown and gray wasteland' you tend to see *nod* I decided on a subway so I wouldn't spend like four hours drawing architecture X3

Well, I definitely see the "fantastical" influence, but I'm observing more as fantastical in a Alice In Wonderland kind of way. Not necessarily in a drug trip kind of way, just, very very surreal, like a gateway into a multicolored upside down world.
I am also beyond in love with the lighting effects you used in the colors with this one. This is definitely one of the best things I've ever seen on FA, EVER. Top notch work, seriously. <3 <3 <3

I think it's perhaps the palette.
Normally, I got for a sorta sun-swept look when I do detailed shading and highlights, the recent picture of Renamon is a good example. In general, the colours tend to be warm shades of orange and brown to show this.
In this case, I opted for a more moonlit-style, since it's in a dark, underground area. Most of the colours are purplish or greenish, and the shades of brown that do exist tend to be very blended between them.
In short, the difference is rather literally night and day.
