For the full pants-shitting effect, try to imagine that music from "Psycho" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuIQ.....eature=related
An experiment with some Illustrator vectoring work, as well as an experiment with just how much I can get away with cheating using the "live trace" feature while doing the background.

Y'know, I'd completely forgotten about the thunderplains while I was making this. Funny that. XD
Of course, this is good news, as this only makes this scenario all that much more plausible... along with the girlish scream that would be emitted from the terrified throats of passerby's. Thanks!

Well, thanks so kindly, my good man! Using a different program that you usually do, like Illustrator, can do that. It's kinda like how you imagine that if you wrote a story by hand, as opposed to with the keyboard, would the utilization of a different tool affect the words and tone you produce.

Well, thank you, good sir! And, to your query, yes and no. I used a picture of the Vinyl Kimahri figurine, traced it in Illustrator and applied some lighting effects in Photoshop. It was only after I applied dark lighting effects that I got the idea to use lighting.
The lighting, on the other hand, I drew myself, although also from a reference pic, and then live-traced the hell out of it in Illustrator, since the original drawing looked like ass. That probably created a slight stylistic difference between the two elements, but I tried to tone that down and blend it in best I could.
