This is based on a traditional festival that takes place in june-july here in Brazil called "festa junina" - june fair/festival. Usually students from elementary to highschool can get better grades at some subjects simply by participating in the school's festival, usually organizing a bingo, serving the food, but, most commonly, taking part in the traditional dance named "quadrilha". It has specific choleographies such as making a tunnel and having everyone to walk under the others' raised arms, shouting "the bridge's down" and then walk backwards, dancing in spiral - like a wheel isn't already challenging enough, but the hardest part, for me at least, is that you gotta have a partner to dance; mostly of the so-called opposite gender, cause these traditional dances are heteronormative AF - also what's the opposite of my gender? Is the opposite of "I don't have a clue" gender any gender the person's aware of?
One of the toughest parts of the dance for me was the "watch out for the snake" part, in which the boy would take the girl in his arms to protect her. Well, I have no physical strength. Taking a watermelon home from the local market is the most I can do. Knowing that, once the girl who was my partner took me in her arms without warnng me about it; I was so scared. Oh, my Princess Luna. But I thought this'd be a funny thing to draw.
Also, one year my partner was a lesbian girl, so basically we were the queer couple, 'cept I didn't know about the ace thing back then.
