Now I present my end of a trade I did with  FidchellVore back in 2012. I decided to redo this story nearly from scratch due to being very dissatisfied with the quality of what I originally made for him. It was one of four stories I didn’t want to reupload when I moved to this account in mid 2015; in this case, I’d thought it was possibly the worst story I’d ever made. So, I wanted to make it up to Fidchell, since I felt he deserved to have something far better than that as my end of our trade.

The story’s plot has been considerably changed to better reflect how a military unit would function. Only a few sections were kept (but changed to fix errors and fit into the new plot), while the rest were done from scratch; I estimate that about 70% of the whole story has been redone, including the amount of material that was discarded. This time, I extensively researched the workings of the military as I plotted it out – something I’d failed to do with the first version of the project. I also studied how different kinds of regimes function and how they would respond in times of need, while also researching the process of military deployment to another country.

Set in 2009, this story shows Sharp when she and several factions of the North Triston Armed Forces are deployed to deal with a terrorist attack in Aurum City, which is an ally to and neighbour of Crez. Between this, she is finally able to form the courage to talk to the fellow recruit she's found herself falling in love with, another skunk named Mikhail. However, all does not run smoothly, and it quickly develops into a situation none of the personnel had ever prepared for. Hope you like. :3

Below is a non exhaustive list of the changes that were made. Some have been left off the list to avoid spoilers.

- The name of the fictional countries changed in response to Fidchell’s feedback, now being named North and South Triston. It was named after one of my favourite Robert Ludlum novels, but with a slight spelling alteration. It rolls off the tongue so much easier; nowadays, I find the previous name embarrassing beyond belief.
- The original story had several major plot holes. Extra care was taken to avoid this, which unfortunately meant that one of the three Vorarephilia scenes had to be removed. The other two were able to be kept without this problem.
- Incorrect military ranks and procedures were used in the original version of the story. These have been amended.
- The romance subplot between Sharp and Mikhail has been retained, and it plays a slightly more significant part in the story.
- The prologue has been deleted, with the North Triston Armed Forces now having a very different reason to enter Crez’s territory.
- All of the boardroom scenes have been deleted, replaced by only a single scene in which Sharp’s Captain tries to negotiate with the ANIMA Corps..
- To reflect the further development Sharp has had since the original version of this story was made, there are more references to her past.
- Bethany’s surname has been changed.
- The names of several ANIMA Corps. officers have been switched.
- While Bethany’s position in the story ends the same way it did before, the circumstances leading up to this were modified.
- One of the scenes reveals a different meaning behind the story’s title to what it was originally.
- Prior to uploading, I proofread the story again, and fixed some more errors that were previously undetected.
