Yep, he is a planewalker, but he's from a modern-science world which had no magic. Ignited and was thrown out into the cosmos, eventually learned some magic and jumped around before settling on a multi-species modern-magic/modern-science world (ie the same place as Pylt/Poke and Rhylith/Torri).
