Here Asheru brings home something for the pot. Using a bow type weapon would be difficult for anything with a long muzzle, and that is part of the advantage the Humans had over them in the past. The Lupines use slings as they are versatile, and cheap. Asheru is good, but not as good as her older brother with them. Pencil on paper. Scott A. H. Ruggels 7 / 2000

For the most part, the Lupines don't do archery. One enterprising Lupine did figure it out, though. (Not Asheru), She became something of a legend. Later some went to a "flat draw" style, but it was hard to achieve accuracy and they sort of waited around until the invention of the cross bow. Until then, most Lupine barbqarians are adept with a sling.
Slings were putting food on the table (okay, on the spit) for millennia before some clever soul figured out how to make a tiny spear fly in a straight line. When I was a teenager, my Dad and I made a sling out of some soft, leftover leather and a length of scrap cloth (little white flowers on a dark blue background). I could usually hit within a few inches with it; Dad could plink cans and bottles with an appropriate stone all day.
