Now we're onto what I'm... Actually rather happy with. These were made over the course of a few hours over 2-3 days. Most of the time being spent on the Protoss head. I wanted to take my time with things and see just how much I could actually do with what I've learned.
This is a month of progress, mainly just drawing heads of canines, dragons, more canine looking things, and a few other creatures. It's also my 3rd day of using pencil, and holy hell I wish I switched to this from pen sooner. I never, ever cared for using pencils in anything, and I pretty much paid for that. It's so much better now that I can control things like line strength and add in shading. The Protoss head took far, far longer than I care to admit. I have gotten... Kinda better. I just need to work on speed and using less references.
They're decent-ish for my level, but I'm happy with them. I never, ever thought I'd be able to make anything close to this 2 months ago.

*whistles* Quite the progress in only a month. I couldn't do anything 3D until I was like, a year into drawing (and that was drawing like, every day).
My advice - that I often hear from professionals: never stop using references and focus on the basics! Speed and accuracy will come naturally with practice. Great work!

Thanks! I don't think I can say too much, since I've really only practiced drawing heads of various creatures > >' But then again, I figure the rest will come a bit easier since I now have a decent idea of the basics! And yeah, I kinda started thinking on the reference thing after I posted this. I think I just need to find a good balance of practice with refs (especially on weird, unique creatures), and without references. Gotta get things committed to memory too.
