And if you don't believe in yourself, let a big tough yeena believe in you instead!
After my down period, which I worked through by drawing my previous submission, I was struck by a wave of motivation and inspiration. I was reminded of that old poster you know and that made me think "I want to do that... to make something truly inspirational" and so I decided to make my own take on it, featuring my lovely Kate as the perfect figure to represent what I wanted to show.
I had a lot of fun with this one and it was truly just plain enjoyable to work on. I knew from the very start that I wanted to go all out with it and so I did, and I must say I'm very happy with the results. I think Kate would be both happy and proud with how badass and pretty I managed to draw her.

I remember the old USA WW2 propaganda poster with a woman in that very pose with the very same words too.
It was to say that woman could do men's jobs just as good, and at the time jobs normally held to men were offered to women.
This was because all the men working at factories, mines, lumberyards, were sent off to war.
The government wanted people to fill the jobs, but all that was left were women and male young teens (11-15 year olds).
Child labor was outlawed... so women were the only moral choice. Just had to convince them.
Funny thing, women wanted to be treated as equals and be allowed in those jobs for decades... it took a war for equality to happen.

Indeed, that's the exact poster that formed the inspiration for this piece, though the meaning in the words have changed over the years to become more general. I was tempted to use Zarya's quote "Together we are strong!" instead, but I wanted to keep it authentic to the original inspiration while conveying a wider meaning and motivation.
