I'll have to work on a story of them meeting up in high school, where Caleb starts to fatten up after meeting her family, and the two of them start to bond over cooking together, and having Sandra offer him treats to coax him to spend more time with her.
Only tricky part is that I'd probably write out the whole air force part of his past, since it wouldn't fit in with him gaining weight through high school.
