While I was hammering together Slisk's reference, 
Ratbat was in close correspondence with me, and together we were hammering out some details about Slisk.
Now, I'd always fancied him as a sort of rock-eater. However, if you look at a snake's skull, it couldn't chew a leaf, let alone a nice piece of basalt. So Ratbat slapped this together, thinking about what sort of teeth would be needed, and what sort of muscles.
