It's also a throwback to the Rot Rod and other wild rides I'd previously drawn and features Chuck Cat and the overeager shades-wearing fox helmsman character from the SS Laika crew concept sketches. This started life as an airbrush class project. That original was never finished. It was redrawn as a large inked and painted cel. The truck was colored bright red against a deep blue sky. That original eventually sold at a convention art show. I kept a copy of the inked line art.
