This week we had a Naming Ceremony for Tawa! He was presented in new clothes before the tribe, sitting by the ceremonial drums. His parents stood on either side proudly.

After a short introduction from Taeana, Khar'huk knelt to the calf and painted upon him symbols in teal paint:

On his brow, The Eyes of the Earthmother (a crescent moon with sun rays) to foster Wisdom and Peace.

On his right arm, a Yaungolian-looking character of Fire, to bring Passion and Vitality.

On his left arm, a Turtle, to bring him protection, and the desire to protect others.

And on his chest, the Bear Paw to give him Strength of body, spirit, and mind.

Taeana then said a prayer and proclaimed his First Name as Kolanatowa, meaning Raven Fire.

The tribe then presented him with gifts!

Fahali (Taeana's mother) gave him a toy spear, painted white and red.
Khaladia gave him a piece of amber with a partial leaf embedded inside.
Wolana gave him a small stuffed Kodo.
Kaldaka (Stormy) gave him a set of three magnets.
Harutho gave him a wyvern figurine with flapping wings.
Rhessi gave him a quilt with tribal symbols.
Aurora (daughter of Adahey and Mu'hati) gave him straw doll that was once hers.

A feast was held after in the village center with much conversation!
