Since we did not have the funds for a full blown Anthrocon convention weekend, Skwirl and I opted for one(1) each: Trip, Road type, reduced cost. Instead of a furry thing, we kept our minds off AC by going in a completely different direction. Instead of Pittsburgh, we went to Elkins, Durbin and Cass in West Virginia. I made the itinerary not so much to see the railroads as the destination, but the ride as the highlight. We stopped at quite a few smaller attractions as well as some better ones, like Seneca Rocks. And enjoyed sunlight, scenery, curvy roads, and a weird X-File motel experience.

Teh crank telephone booth at Yokum's is long gone :( So are the open wire telephone lines and the carnival glass powerline insulators. And the Harris house. And the greasy spoon restauraunt with those sweet mountain flower waitresses. And that dirty bar/grille in E. Cass. Its pretty sterile now, but not yet tourist trappy.
