My entry for the Sci-Fi competition hosted by

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl
© GSC Gameworks
My character Leo emerging from the ruined core of Chernobyl No. 4, having braved the depths of the Zone, fighting mutant, stalker, and lunatic alike while mindful not to step in any fatal anomalies along the way. All rumors and information have lead to this one event, this sole location, the very origins of the zone itself, the monolith? Alien, or illusion...
Completed at 10:20 GMT-12:00 for better or for worse....
No time left to color it, unfortunately, too many firsts in the making of this image, its taken me far too long to wrestle forign programs and even the reformatting of my entire computer just to get this far, lol. I intend to get it colored some point soon however, would make a spiff poster. (the original file being more than big enough for it as well.

Heh....I'm not thinking I stand much of a chance, some great artists in that contest, and some great ideas too, but it was fun to feel engaged, I've not been under the gun of a deadline since I left Ringling. I think I perform better under said pressure, however, I must better prepare for the circumstances next time, when I got to the moment of coloring, all I could do is laugh and sigh, probably take me another three days to figure that part out.
tell me about it. the radioactive cloud almost reached spain... the italians have trouble with wood pellets imported from estland and latvia which is brim full with Caesium isotopes, clearly out of russian production. so they had to take thousands of tons off the market there.
Everything about that accident was pure Russian "OOPS, we didn't do it!" ...then complete coverup for all the heros that died during or immediately after their part in helping to contain what they could...a condition of foolhardy and beurocratic arrogance I'm ashamed to see our own country rife with. My home state has an entire town ravaged by asbestos, and the company that went bankrupt and further refused to further cover the health coverage of the town its mines afflicted, after years of lieing to the workers about the dangers of their work environment.
Pbtbttt, not until they do something really bold like try to take our guns away, otherwise we're much too lazy, its our fault as a people, want someone else to handle it all for us while we kick back on our couches and have another cheezeburger and watch MTV. (I can't believe the shows they have on that channel anymore..lets take a bunch of adults, make them act like selfish shallow five year olds, and make a reality show out of it! Awesome! - -; )
