Cappy, Fritter, Scuttle, and Bubble all leapt from their seats to make a run for it with their parents.
“Come on, mom!” cried Bubble. “We got to get out of here.”
“Why?” she asked. “Why should I?”
The other children were getting the same response from their parents.
“Nuts!” cried Scuttle. “Why won’t anyone listen?”
Cappy shrieked as he cried, “No! No! Mommy! Daddy!”
Lucky joined his friends and stated, “We’ve got to get out of here before whatever is messing with our parents and everyone else gets us, too!”
“I can’t leave my momma!” cried Fritter with tears in his eyes.
TICK-TACK-TICK-TACK!
“HOLD YOUR BREATH!” cried a strong tired voice that was accompanied by hard and fast footsteps. “DON’T BREATHE IN THE MIST!”
The kids gasped and froze in place upon hearing the request.
TICK-TACK-TICK-TACK!
The children felt a strong breeze go by as a tall bird-like creature in a black and white cloak rushed past them towards where Ducky, Binky, and the Peace Bringer were carelessly wobbling about.
“COLLECT AND COME TO ME, FOUL MIST!” he commanded as he outstretched his wings.
FWOO-WOO-WOO-WOO-WHISH
The kids watched as the purple mist spiraled about in the air and collected itself into a shiny deep purple colored blob in front of the bizarre blue bird. The bird then opened his eyes, pulled an empty, glass bottle from his cloak, and held the open end outward, as he gestured with his free wing for the cloud of mist to come towards him.
FWEEEEE-ISP
POP!
Before the children could understand what was going on, the large bird had somehow gotten all the purple mist into the glass bottle and slammed a wooden stopper on top of it.
“Ungh,” groaned the blue bird as he fell to the ground behind the altar.
“Cappy, Fritter!” exclaimed Lucky. “Stay here with the grown-ups.”
“What are you going to do?” asked Cappy.
Lucky stomped his foot upon the floor and replied, “Find out what ruined my daddy and Binky’s special day!”
“Yeah!” cried Scuttle. “I want answers!”
Bubble could tell Cappy and Fritter were not comfortable with what Lucky and Scuttle wanted to do.
“I’ll keep them out of trouble,” she said. “I promise.”
“Please do,” whimpered Cappy. “I don’t wanna’ be all alone.”
Fritter began to cry as he cuddled into his blue friend and said, “No, no.”
“Don’t worry,” she said while jogging after Lucky and Scuttle. “We’ll get to the bottom of this.

It's been a long time coming but finally about ready to be made into a tangible book. We are all so happy to share this tale with as many people as possible.
Ah, Deviant Art. I miss being there. It's how I met "Lil Moon". She's the one who helped me make Snowdrop, Scoots, and Rainfeather into plushies. I miss seeing her work. She's so super talented in plushie making.
Thanks for following, Leon. It means a lot and I know I have been hyper distracted from what you've shared. :( I'm very sorry.

*Sigh* So have I. Truly I'm looking forward to having less to do to promote the panel, the new book, work on the accessible software project, and find work. If I can get back to just one, or two, things to do I know I'd be better at keeping up with you, Lanny, and other pal's works. :)
Thanks for being so supportive as I get my ducks in a row, Leon. I am eager to just binge on your stories soon.

It's more epic you aided in giving me cause to take all the time I did to rewrite it. Now it has a better flow that should meet the 'tween' target audience. It's the same story but without all the buzzkill of being too long nor wordy. :)
aricub did such a wonderful effort with the art, too. I wish I was able to see it but I know she put a lot of heart and effort into it. I hope you enjoy seeing it as I preview the story over the coming weeks.
Oh! Were you able to get the resume and cover letters I sent? They are templates to work with but I hope they provided some inspiration towards your upcoming adventures in starting your educational journey with generations of students to come. :)
