Meet my cougar/mountain lioness named Joan!
She's also from the same time period as Lucille and Louie, 1912 through about 1920. Since women don't have many rights in that world, she has chosen to present herself as a man to society. She wears men's clothes and works for a construction company, helping build skyscrapers and things of the like. The others accept her as a man, though a few have caught wise. Surprisingly, though, they don't seem to mind. When out on the town, this gal favors sitting at bars with a good drink and taking in the atmosphere. Occasionally she can be coaxed onto the floor, but only after a drink or two. But then she really can cut a rug!
She also ends up being the partner to Lucille. The two meet at a bar where Lucille and her brother are performing, Joan becoming enamored with the beautiful voice and piano playing of the mountain lioness. After a few nights of working up the courage, she approaches Lucille and the rest is history. Louie is wary of her at first, but eventually accepts her into their circle, eventually welcoming her into the mob with them. Joan starts at the bottom of the mob totem pole, but she eventually works her way up. Her background in construction gives her the skills needed to know the best ways to break into buildings and escape easiest.
