My mom and I are fostering this baby sugar glider for about a week or so until she is going to a new home with 2 sugar glider friends and a big cage. We went into a pet store yesterday that was going out of business to see what sales they had going and saw this little baby in a tiny bird cage. I couldn't stand to see her stay there so I contacted all my friends that I could and had them ask around for someone who could take in a sugar glider.

We went in today to pick her up. The guy at the pet store said that she was sold a few weeks ago and was returned on their door step. He said if she hadn't been sold by the time the store closed he would have kept her himself, but the cage she was in in the pet store was just too small. I'd hate to see her stay there for a whole 'nother month or so. We talked to the guy for a while. He had been taken care of her as well as he could - getting mangos from the Harris Teeter next door and feeding her meal worms. He actually gave us the glider free of charge as she was already paid for and we promised him she would get to a good home.

She is still very scared of us, so we letting her adjust to her new home in my old rat cage that is 3x the size of what her tiny bird cage was. We put some branches and toys in there for her.
