While I also haven't had one, I will say that when all things are considered, every single parent and pairs of parents are different; in short you'd be surprised at the answer, as there are people who would be very supportive of something like this.
Parents, friends, relatives, and ironically even people who never met someone with this kind of personal crisis can and would support this.
The world is a vast place my friend; don't always assume that just because your parent or parents weren't like this or you aren't yourself, doesn't mean there aren't any people who would support it. That's association fallacy and is exactly that: Assuming that because your parent or parents weren't supportive of it that all parents wouldn't support it.

First off, I think you guys are over analyzing it. This is FA, not some reality site.
Second, this piece is super adorable. There needs to be more stuff like this.

Initially, when I first saw this, I thought it was pretty awesome and cute to see this puppers get a feline female suit.
Now, I'm relating to it on a whole new level, and mostly going through the same thing right now, but I'm not ready to tell my parents or reveal much about my crisis.
