I know this is long over due since the Overwatch Chinese New Year event was nearly half an year ago. However, I reckon I should use the long weekend (Canada Day) to draw something.
The funny thing is that the Winston's Chinese New Year skin aka Sun Wukong, has the same fur colour pattern as my furson Rocko. I decided to draw myself in this and this actually took me longer than it really should.

I think Sun Wukong was offered a Pu-dao like weapon in the novel but he ended up using the Ruyi Jingu Bang (means "As you will golden hooped staff")
If I recall correctly. Wukong went to the Undersea realm and paid the Dragon Lord of Eastern Sea (who was in charge of the rain and maritime weather in the story/Chinese Lore) a visit. Since Wukong had grown powerful and he needs a weapon worthy of an immortal / divine being and the Dragon Lord has a arsenal of such weapons.. In the end the odd pillar resides in the Undersea Palace caught Wukong's eye and turns out it responded to Wukong and turned into a quarter staff sized weapon for him. But you seen Dragon Ball. The staff can do interesting things.
Yeah. Journey to the West was a novel from 14th Century, but a lot of people (include myself) down right consider it as mythology of some form. Since a lot of Chinese to worship the figures in the novel for blessings.
