Duke Weaselton sat back and idly picked his teeth. It was late afternoon, just past lunch, and not the busiest time of day. He had no real reason to rush, at least not for an hour or two until people started coming home from work. That was peak 'anxious parent' time, where hurried mammals were most likely to snap up a bootleg movie or two to quiet their screaming brats back home. He was in fact tempted to nod off for forty winks until a shadow fell over his ramshackle stall.
At first all, he could see were the legs, a dusty, dark tannish brown and clad in a shabby pair of long pants, not even opting for jeans. His gaze traveled slowly up, past the stained white shirt and the colorful black bandanna to the almost foxlike muzzle that peered down at him. All told the... well he wasn't quite sure on the species of this particular fellow and didn't much care to ask... whatever he was he was around twice the weasel's height, even while slouching as he tended too. At that moment both forepaws were on his stall, the canid bending over it, fixing him with an intense and hopeful stare. The kid was obviously there to pick up his little... package. He sighed and rummaged about beneath his stall, looking for the plain brown paper bag it had been stashed in.
"You have it right?"
"No, of course not, I'm just down here looking for my glasses."
"Cool. Is it cam footage?"
"Yeah, has to be, they're only showing it in theaters right now, but professional quality, zoomed in, separately recorded audio and everything. As good as a DVD if a little blurry."
"Great! Fifty bucks right?"
"Right."
Duke grabbed the money that was thrown down, snatching it from the air before it had even had time to drift onto the stall top. In return he handed over the paper bag, which was torn to shreds with the viciousness and excitement of a hit of cocaine. Inside was a slim DVD case, with a printed custom cover slipped neatly inside. Having printed it himself (And having done a pretty good job too he thought.) Duke didn't need to know what it said. 'Anthropia', the weird kid's movie about a world of naked monkeys. He didn't know why the kid was such a fan, didn't WANT to know why. People had their weird habits and predilections,. and Dupe was a good customer, quiet, punctual and above all, moneyed. He even had a distinguished name, perhaps not THE greatest, but close. All-in-all the... wolf? Could be wolf, coyote maybe... well he was Duke's kind of guy through and through, even if he did like kiddy movies. He pocketed the cash and watched the larger mammal almost run down the street before checking his watch. It had stopped.
Oh well, plenty of time for a quick nap then.

Nonsense, it's your talent and interesting fancharacters. There's just so much potential there. There's a whole freakin' side story that could be written. To wit:
Dupe strode down the nearly deserted street, trying not to skip and jump from sheer excitement. He had it, after nine MONTHS of waiting for it to come out he finally had it! And WEEKS before the official DVD release too. The money had been worth it; it was a bit on the steep end but well worth it, especially given the rewatch value. A movie ticket would have cost him half as much and not allowed either friends or repeat viewing. As it was he was heading to an acquaintances to organize a meetup and a watch. Sure they weren't so much into it as he was, but it was a general movie with a solid-looking plot. He knew Doggo would appreciate it, ol' dogs usually did.
As if by magic his friend stepped out from a nearby alleyway and onto the footpath, not a dozen feet ahead. Despite his name he as a scruffy looking rabbit, much like Dupe himself. They'd both been raised on the streets (And both by canines for that matter.) and had bonded strongly when just kids. He was followed by another friend, Rush, a slick looking weasel who made a living doing odd jobs for the local gangs. He was as tough as nails and a valuable ally if you were in a spot of trouble. The two seemed to be talking, or maybe arguing over something. Strange to see them together out of the blue like that.
A third figure stepped forward, one Dupe hadn't seen before. He was a fox, clad in a plain shirt, jacket and pants. He seemed to be minding his own business, towering over the other two males, almost as tall as Dupe himself. But they were definitely a trio, was this some sort of deal? A new acquaintance? He was only a few feet away and burning with curiosity when Doggo noticed him.
"Hey! Dupe! How's it going dog?"
"Great, you won't believe what I've got!"
"A life? Nah, I kid. It's that movie you wanted right? You go see the Duke?"
"Yeah, cost a bit but it's legit. You wanna watch?"
"Sure, was planning a little get-together anyway. Sierra's in town."
Dupe blinked. Sierra... Sierra... the name was a familiar one, but he couldn't quite place it. His question was answered when a second rabbit joined the little group, a very pale tan in color, almost off-white. She flashed him a brief smile before putting an arm around Rush, and the strange fox. He remembered now,Sierra had been one of Doggo's flings, a few months back. He hadn't paid much attention at the time, it hadn't been too serious as far as he was aware. So were they back together? It was hard to tell; she was being awfully close with the two preds she was embracing, was the fox a friend? A fling? He couldn't tell.
"Hey Si, how's it going?"
"Pretty good, finally met a guy with a decent apartment. We were just heading over, you coming with?"
"Yeah, I have entertainment."
"Really?, I AM entertainment. Who has snacks, anyone?"
