I should have known better than to sit down and start working on music at 1 am. Now it's 4:30 am and I need to be up at a reasonable hour.
Anyways, I've brought this theme as far as I can with what limited resources I have at my disposal. Without a couple thousand dollars, I can't rightly make my MacBook do the sorts of things (audio-wise) that I could do on a PC. Ideally this theme would have had some military-style (long walk) drums in the background, with a bit more tweaking on the synths, but Garage Band just doesn't let you do what you want to do easily. The important thing is that I got the melody out.
If someone out there wants to add to this, it's all yours. Just let me know, so I can hear someone with audio talent show me how it's done. It's 125 bmp starting from the top.

I really like the flow of this theme and I agree with DireWolf that it sounds like an opening theme for a TV series. I like the rhythm that his piece has with the start of a single instrument and the soft pick up of the strings in the background. The strong guitar overtone and the soft string in the background create a very nice blend.
Strings and guitar.. <.< if it took a while to not on this heh I get around..
Anyway not so so bad. I do say its a bit slow as in the tempo wise or perhaps its to many full notes and holds. It makes this sound quite slow..
If you need percusion to go along with it it could complement well like a snare type rhythem.. Also a broader orchestral line can do wonders..
This whole pice reminds me of the songs typical in the songs played on Ace Combat (PS2 game) =) so it's not hard for me to imagine what can accompany this pice. I be shure to help ya out if needed

Hey Rei, seeing that DSV Nautica is a space themed comic and the way this sounds you have the space theme almost down pact. But after listening to it several times, not to critise in a bad way, to me this seems to need a somewhat softer tone. Like adding a gentle piano or violin like you would hear here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIiM.....PL&index=1.
If I had Fl Studio, or a friend that has the program I would be glad to see what I can do for you to help out. But as I've read in your 'Artist comments' area it was late when you made this.
