Tempus pumped his legs hard, galloping frantically with the small Aussie trying desperately to stay beside him. His head reared back as his hooves pounded the soft, autumn ground.
"You can't expect to outrun me with those short legs. Face it, you're just not fast enough."
Lyell panted with exasperation and fatigue. It's true, his legs were pretty short, but he had been able to at least keep Tempus in his line of sight.
"I... Haven't... Fallen back too... Far..." His heavy fur made this fall jog even more exhausting.
Tempus chuckled and with a puff of his pipe was galloping a whole 2 legs farther than Lyell.
"Hmph, slow and weak." His lips curled in a smile. He did so enjoy this romp through the woods.
