Hell, they could still screw... well, pretty much everyone including themselves if they press this. If they went to a rival media company, it'd be all too easy to paint Picca as a bored executive playing prostitute on the weekend getting caught up in a sting that went bad and then using money and influence in a backroom deal to get out of trouble. It's not true, and ultimately fly like a lead balloon, but in the meantime everyone's taking it up the ass.

I'm not sure they have that level of intelligence, considering the holes they keep digging themselves into, and the whole target selection process they had going. Then the whole Rumbolt storyline rushed back to my mind. That ex-cop just sat the absolute WORST thing possible, he'll be lucky to LIVE long enough to hand in his resignation.

Rumbolt seems to be too intelligent to indulge in the urge to beat these guys like a chef tenderizing a tough piece of veal. Which is probably a good thing; he looks like he could grind these gusy up for fish bait even if they were all in good condition! All in all, slinking away quietly is probably their best bet; it's never a good idea to push a badger too far.
