Spots and Stripes
Chapter 1
“With You,” Part 3
A lone Dalmatian looked at the mirror with a sub tiled sigh. “Why did I have to have such small breast?” thought Gwen. Her short stature didn’t help with her lacking figure.
“Face it, I am not a model,” grumbled Gwen.
“You may not be a model but you can be attractive,” “mused a female cow who was admiring Gwen. Her dangling name tag read “Hillary.” “Instead of going for the traditional black dress why not get some color on you to break up the usual monotone babe.”
Trying not to growl too loud Gwen responded, “Thank you but I am not a fan of dying fur to get a certain color.”
“Oh dear, I wasn’t saying that but I was wondering if I could help you find a dress that would help show off your spots and a little more.”
“Watch the flirting girl, I am taken you know,” snapped Gwen without realizing it.
Hillary looked at her questionably. “My dear, I know you’re taken, you come in here with that Zebra girl all the time, always smiling, always happy. I can see a good thing when I see it. You two make a cute couple, hell even my girlfriend thinks so.”
Gwen looked dumbfounded. How did this Hillary know that she was dating Lauren? Was it that obvious? Who else knew? Sensing something wrong Hillary attempted to soothe Gwen.
“I’m sorry dear; I didn’t mean to startle you. I am a lesbian too, and I know the signs of a relationship. I didn’t know you were still in the closet. I’m so-“
Gwen raised her hand. “It’s…alright. I have been dating that Zebra for two years today and I wanted to get a dress for our dinner tonight. Your right, I am not out of the closet and had I known it was that obvious that I was a…a lesbian I would have came out long ago.” It’s just tha-“
This time the cow raised her hand. “It’s alright, let’s try this again. I’m Hillary. If you’re looking for a dress that will wow your date tonight might I suggest something in a dark blue to bring out your eyes?” Hillary looked at Gwen with a smirk.
Gwen smiled. “That sounds good, and as a thank you would you care for a cup of coffee? Also could you tell me more about your situation so I can learn more about homosexual culture?”
“Sounds good to me, but first let’s get you that dress,” laughed Hillary.
“Eeeee! It’s perfect!!” cried Lauren as she swooshed around in a long pink dress. Matching shoes and a matching handbag complete the ensemble that the Zebra was displaying for the entire store to see. After purchasing her dress Lauren skipped along to her next stop, the hair salon. Finishing that chore the Zebra decided that she should get a cup of coffee in the Mall’s only coffee shop. Walking gleefully Lauren couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky she was to be dating Gwen.
