This is another older work. It was one of the peices that inspired the card game I am working on - Atrocity Divide. The concept for an albino hyena actually came from a series of role plays that I shared with a hyena acquantence named Moth.

Perhaps it's just me, but with the level of detail of this picture, it might be better appreciated at a size of 600x728.
It's like viewing a huge piece of artwork too close. You lose yourself in patches of the picture instead of seeing the details finely meshed together. :)

I never know for sure how to go about sizing things. Digital mediums allow for so much manipulation of presentation that I usually just try for the largest canvas I can that seems reasonable at the time. Still, I know what you mean, I like impressionist paintings specifically for the way they blend all the details together in a haze rather than having distinct details.
