Discovering just how many MLP: FiM voice actors have done roles in shows that have inspired me since I was a kid is amazing! In this case I share with you Kelly Sheridan.
Her role as Starlight Glimmer has come to mean a lot to me for how the character exemplifies how it is never too late to make the right choices towards improving your life and those of others. So much has happened with Starlight between her traumatic loss of her best friend, Sunburst, to losing control of her Cutie Mark free village, to being offered a second chance at true friendship by Twilight Sparkle, to befriending Trixie, and then proving her talents as a leader and spell castercan be used for good instead of for self-fulfilling purposes. She now is mentoring Trixie while coming into her own as a character who can help others instead of forcing her will upon them.
There are many life experiences I have had that resulted in me wondering how to properly handle them or if I learned something far too late to be of any good. Starlight’s character illustrates that it is never too late to learn, self-improve, embrace new ideas you once believed were of no use to you, and know you can contribute to the world in a positive way.
So who’s the girl with my character, Yosh, and Starlight? Why that’s Hitomi from the anime series, “Escaflowne”! This series came out in 2000 and aired on Fox Kids just long enough for my sister and I to gain interest enough to finish it off through buying the DVD series. Kelly did the English dub for Hitomi. This series provided tons of creative inspiration while giving me, my sister, and our other friends a reason to eagerly wait for each DVD release to see the series through. My sister also has the special edition of the Escaflowne movie release that includes the official soundtrack and other nifty content!
A very big aspect of my part of the presentation at BronyCon 2017 goes into detail what I’ve touched on here about Kelly’s character, Starlight Glimmer. However I definitely need to make sure she sees just how long my sister, friends, and I have followed her work outside of My Little Pony. So Hitomi is here showing Starlight her talents with tarot cards to foresee the future.

wow wow wow hold the phone the same VA as Starlight Glimmer is the same one who played Hitomi on Escaflowne holy cow i loved that anime back in the day it was one of my all time fave's next to Gundam Wing i still have the box set of Escaflowne that came with the movie as well so cool mind blow my friend

I was super surprised, too. However, if you look her up on "Behind the Voice Actors" she pops right up as Hitomi from Escaflowne. She's actually done a lot of anime work, too.
