which pokemon game is being played on that? I see it's a 3DS that's being used so... is it one of the 3DS Pokemon games like Alpha Sapphire or the DS entries like HeartGold?

It's not a difficult choice, crystal was the first video game we ever owned and when they remade it to be even better, *and* let you have your pokemon friends walk around with you? yeah that's good.

No trouble! And yeah HGSS was the series peak, though gen 3 and gen 5 were also really good (in gen 5's case, better than many people give it credit for).

gen 5 was pretty good, and gen 3 is the second best generation in my opinion. I loved pokemon sapphire and honestly its remake Alpha Sapphire wasn't bad either
