Hey guys,
I was not sure what to do this month until we got a new set of stick arrive from Oscar.
Same guy who rolled for Jim Robinson of Leaf and Bean. I knew this was perfect timing.
So let's get to these, shall we?
2012 by Oscar Connecticut:
Pre-light/Construction:
The appearance from the box was simple like a compact size. The crest above symbolized a more ancient era look with the Mayan heads. The text on the band was just as ancient looking as well. Something a little more going back to ancient roots. Nice touch honestly. The wrapper felt soft and firm, like it was just freshly wrapped on put on the shelf. The fact that it was a box press amazes me it could hold together with a soft feel. Truly remarkable. The scent was vibrant with cedar and hay. The seems were very present while the veins were slightly there. Let's light her up!
The Burn Part 1:
The draw was nice and vivid with alot of smoke. The taste of light pepper andd cedar were the first to come. It felt real bready and thick for a light smoke. An even burn as well. IT was a nice start for the afternoon. Something this simple was just right ouch for the day. The pepper notes became a little more potent from the exhale. Still a bit bready by this point near the end.
The Burn Part 2:
There came a bit of cream with almost a nutmeg hint too. Giving it a little more of a sweet balance from the cedar and pepper. Almost like a puff pastry in the morning when you think about it. Will grab a few more for the morning with a cup of coffee soon. Soon the cedar was dwindling down a little, leaving the pepper to gain a bit of ground upfront. Soon the stick became a little spongey. Getting to that soft spot.
The Burn Final:
I started to purge around this point and took a fresh puff with the roasty notes coming to. There was more of a breadier note to it. Much thicker. The pepper calmed down at this point. the creamy nutmeg soon sarted to get a little thicker as well. Like a fresh pastry baked good coming out of the oven. As the final few puffs came along, the main winner of the notes was the bread notes. I put it out with a sigh and said, "So fucking good."
Verdict:
IF Heaven were to make a simple stick, this would be it. Oscar does it again with this one. If you see some of these, get a few and have it with a cup of coffee too.
