I will be selling it too. I just got tired of typing it out. XD And I am going to be putting up an art card auction before AC. As soon as I'm able to actually. Juuust posted a new journal about how it'll run. :) I have to wait for furbuy to get itself situated first.)
Background texture is basically done by taking two different color pencils and putting down the darker color first. When putting it on there, its less a back and forth movement and more like small circles/swirls/loops over and over again while not pressing super hard. Then I do the same on top of it with the lighter pencil, only a little harder. That helps it blend. :) After that, I did a little bit of extra blending with a blender (hard wax/clear) pencil.
And thats pretty much it! I get the various lighter and darker areas by changing my pressure with the initial darker pencil and also with the blender pencil at the end, which not only blends, but tends to lighten areas as well.

Its kinda like painting.. with a very tiny brush. Lesse, first I'll make a few little scribbles on some paper to get the ink going, with light pressure on the pen. After that, lightly apply it. I'll start with the thicker part of the line I want to make and kinda make my way to the thinner parts. I think the trick it getting it do keep coming out of the pen is using as light a pressure as possible and a tick-tick-tick sort of movement as opposed to a long stroke. After the first layer is on and dried, its much easier to get that second coat on. :) I hope that helps, and made sense.
