Thanks! I didn't quite achieve the lighting I wanted but it's a start :P

You did well on the backlighted greenery with that very saturated and bright yellowish green color, that sort of sub-surface scattering is real important when drawing plants and such. I suppose if you are worried with lighting you could be a bit more daring with the contrast in your pieces, make the bright spots even brighter and the shadows even darker. If you find that difficult, I would suggest switching your image to black and white grayscale every now and then to see if your contrast is doing fine!
