ZTragon: "It's not too far now, common; let's hurry!"
ZTragon impatiently picked up his feet more quickly as to traverse the mountain he and his mate, Goldy, had attempted to conquer. Not too far behind was Goldy, who was huffing along quite well.
Goldy: "You'd think after an hour of walking we'd be there by now. Why don't we just fly, again?"
ZTragon turned his head slightly to look back at Goldy, huffing and panting with sweat dripping down his forehead. Being not so sure why he didn't think of flying himself he hesitated to answer.
ZTragon: "Uhh... w-well.. Life's about the journey, not the destination!" He said with a toothy grin, hoping Goldy wouldn't catch onto his bluff.
Goldy did.
Instead, Goldy amused ZTragon by walking beside him, side-by-side up the mountain, until finally arriving at the vista ZTragon had promised.
ZTragon: "Forget what I had said before; the destination is totes better than that hike!" He said with a toothy grin.
Goldy rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue.
ZTragon took Goldy's hand with his own and guided the both of them to a cliffside just off the plateau. He sat down and gestured Goldy to do the same, which he did. Feet paws hanging off the edge of the cliff along with their tails, each taking a side. The hike took just about the right amount of time, as the day was turning to dusk.
Goldy and ZTragon sat patiently, making quick glances at each other and smiling every time. Just then, a loud shriek penetrated the air, causing both of them to turn their heads toward the source with a surprised expression. Suddenly the entire air was filled with fireworks, shrieking in all directions, glowing lights flashing against their scales hue, creating a vast array of colors on them.
ZTragon and Goldy couldn't help but smile while making quick glances at all the explosions, taking turns pointing out each one. Goldy leaned into ZTragon as he naturally reacted by wrapping an arm around him and conjuring the widest grin achievable. The two of them shared that night together, saving another moment.
