And yet there are those that want ALL fireworks banned because they are noisy and environmentally sound. I'm hearing more and more for displays of laser lights (environmentally safe, Quiet) to waving of colored streamers (environmentally safe, quiet and anybody can wave them) instead of traditional fireworks. Cause Fireworks scare children and pets and are violent are the usual complaints.


I prefer to blow the living shit out of stuff and in the air! Thankfully where I live now, 3rd and 4th of July sounded like Baghdad January 16th 1991.

Same here in Los Angeles. All fireworks are banned, but mostly because California is so flammable, But apparently lots and lots of people went down to Mexico and got Fireworks. From 8:45, until 10:30 it was a continuous low rumble, like the Siege of Stalingrad , punctuated by closer booms and the crackle of smaller ordinance. Standing on the roof of my apartment building with other residents, we had a 3360 degree show of Sky blossoms, and stars, and a thick layer of smoke hugging the ground. It was amazing and the flagrant non-compliance did this ol' American heart proud.

They are calling for banning even public displays here in Madison. cause some dumbass found an unexploded shell from a public display this year, and lit the short fuse and it blew up on him, removing 3 fingers and badly burning his face and chest.

Somehow I doubt that will go far, the locals love their colorful night time explosions, despite the PETA, Screaming Liberals and Eco-Nazis demands.
