Here is a group of villagers in the lands of the civilized lupines. From Left to right, is a human customer, a prosperous merchant couple, showing middle class dress ( as well as some upper class details, and devotional symbols) a Legionary in a mail hauberk and cloak with spear, a low class laborer, and a visiting barbarian, looking to buy goods. At the time 1999-2000, Yerf had a No Humans rule. I made the edits as "ugly" as I could without being blatant, and There were enough complaints that the rule was modified to No Humans Only, and then a year or two later it was dropped entirely when Yerf's focus was tuned more to Art education.
Pants? But they are so... not-roman at all! D:
Seriously, tho. I know it´s even near Italy, so I am sure even the most roman of the Imperials find a certain comfort in pants when it´s cold. xD
Also loving the Guard further in the back, wearing a nice long chainmail shirt. Is he an actual soldier, or more a type of Vigiles Urbani (Town Guard)?

where Asheru in company take place is on the eastern frontier in the mountainous areas, and soon to be heading east into the steppe and deserts.
The guard in the back servews a double duty. They act as the watch when at home, and some get seconded to the imperials as auxiliaries on campaign. But in general they are Vigiles Urbani. Arminius' forces are not numerous, and commoners who have weapons training, and did not rush off to join the legions aren't especially common.

I am on weasyl, but not active any more. Weasyl pretty much duplicates what I have here, just less of it. Weasyl seems to have less active support than FA, though it is better organized. There was another Archive called Art Spots that for a while was a successor to Yerf, but it got folded in with a more Egalitarian Archive and I left.
