I’ve become pretty predictable in saying “This panel will be the last” and then doing another. However this time I have new goals that must be followed to ensure I work and advocate where I can be the most effective. Therefore this really and truly is ‘my’ last time presenting “Coping with Limitations” at BronyCon.
Ari, Doodle, and I are working super hard to make my swan song from the annual positively influential convention the best one ever in so many ways. You will see these as we release excerpts from the forthcoming presentation in the coming weeks.
What is it that makes me so sure I’m not coming back this time? The reason is how I need to finally fully embrace my place in the blind community. To help developers, like Richard Merryfield, succeed in empowering those with limited or no sight while educating the general public on how blindness does not mean the end of your life. It does not mean you are incapable of achieving great things as long as you have self-determination coupled with proper support to work beyond such a limitation.
My sister, Lindsey Palumbo, has long been a part of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). She has been a very strong advocate and it is finally time I joined alongside her to increase what can be done to update society’s perception on blindness. She’s already told me of numerous opportunities coming up to help through my talents. Now it’s time I start doing them.
I may, or may not, have shared one of my strongest motivators for making a 4th presentation at BronyCon. This is to help myself fully believe all I’ve been trying to achieve is not just talk. That, even totally blind, I can enjoy life like I did before I lost the last of my eyesight. To know I am in charge of my physical limitations and not stagnated by them.
I also want attendees to realize something very important that I aim to illustrate in all my future efforts. This being “I’m just like you. Only blinder.”
We’re still in need of some assistance to ensure we fully succeed in our efforts this year. You can help donate to our cause by visiting the link below. Or you can follow the proceeding links to commission Ari and Doodle to do art for you.

*Nods* Thanks for the encouragement, my friend. I am looking forward to doing all I can to aid my friends in the blind community through additional involvement towards showing how we are more than our eyes.
I also look forward to focusing more on my stories, reading friend stories, and being someone everyone can count on as a pal here on FA. :)
