So I found this picture as a sketch a while ago, and was so enthralled by its design and potential character backstory that I went and colored it out of the blue. This greninja's rightful creator  SuperSonic1992 made me think of Smash Bros Greninja when I read his username, and somehow, amidst my fervent mouse clicks and never-ending smile, I ended up giving his nameless Greninja a nickname, if only to go along with this picture.

Sony. 'So' for Sonic and 'ny' for 'ni' in japanese sounds, which means two (2) in their language. Also, Sony is spelled and spoken very close to 'Sonny' which is how a father (or uncle) sometimes addresses his son (or nephew). In both cases they refer to this Greninja as 'a second Sonic' and 'Sonic Jr / Sonic's son', which is my way of honoring SuperSonic's Greninja, and also hint at said Greninja's backstory in Smash Bros.

(Because of course the Smash villains would get down to pick at the poor frog upon noticing that he and Sonic were both blue, ran fast and attacked at lightening speed, mockingly referring to him as Sonic Jr whenever he went. Greninja's case was not helped by the fact he had no official name to go by, and try as the other might to help him keep cool about the bullying, his afforded nickname eventually winded down to Sony in order for everyone (mostly the good guys) to tell him apart from Sonic. Naturally the Greninja has a bit of a grudge against his nickname, but he's gotten used to it since it doesn't hold as bad a memory as Sonic Jr, even if it was derived from it. Thankfully for his bruised ego, he's usually able to defeat the villains with ease whenever a match comes up, and the bad guys have learned the hard way that poking at Sonic's shadow is a veeery bad idea.)

This nameless Greninja belongs to  SuperSonic1992 I invented the name Sony to give the frog a background that went with my impression of him after seeing his original sketch ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24031196/ ). This means that both the name Sony and its alloted background are fictional (thus NOT REAL) unless SuperSonic1992 decides to adopt my idea and make it official. (Please don't expand on this idea unless you have both our permissions. Thank you!)

I went and colored the sketch to encourage his art, because this traditional artist struggled alot to make a decent Greninja picture, and his determination and patience are something to learn from. Don't give up on your work, SuperSonic1992! <3
