I actually got a pretty cool idea after seeing this and reading the comments that I feel like sharing rather than wait for my posting:
"AAA (Autonomous Armor Android) Bodyguards
Seen as as the highest end level of personal protection, the AAA Bodyguards (an acronym nobody believes was coincidence) are viewed by many as the best protection money can buy.
While in "Standby Mode", the units function as servants, aides, or even companions, as the user desire. Upon acquisition, most are like blank slates, but as learning based A.I.s, it does not take them long to develop a personality that meshes well with the user, eventually learning to anticipate their wants and needs. Though they can fill in a variety of roles as needed, their core programming prioritizes protection of the user.
While on duty, the AAA functions much like a typical bodyguard would, though their array of sensory equipment makes them far more aware of surroundings, and their analytics allows them to identify potential threats much faster as well. The unit will always interpose itself between the user and perceived threats, often neutralizing threats (typically through non-lethal means) before they have a chance to act. Should there be no way to effectively interpose, the unit can quickly open, using various servos to accelerate encapsulating the user. Though the interiors are custom made to be comfortable, normally in such extreme cases the unit retains its autonomous nature, making things a little awkward movement wise for the user. Given how such acts usually save their lives, however, few reasonable people complain.
In instances where an active threat is known to be targeting the user, it is often encouraged that the user preemptively wear the unit before leaving any designated safe areas. In this state, the unit gives movement controls to the user, acting more akin to a suit of armor, and focusing on scanning procedures. When used in such a way, the unit often utilizes a built in hologram to project an image of the user nearby, giving the image of a standard bodyguard escort. While the hologram is not sophisticated enough to fool close scrutiny, it is often enough for less careful observation, giving away an attackers presence in attacking air if not detected by the unit. After this point, whether or not the unit takes back motor controls depends on the situation and the user."

Very nice art! It’s interesting how you and
Roaming_Shadow give the art piece different stories.
