It's been such a long time since I've gotten to work in any sort of illustrative style, so when my friend pestered me into doing this lyric based piece... 5 months ago or so, I decided to do it in the style of the lithographs I used to do in college. I LOVE working in this style, but it's super difficult to finish things like this with my carpal tunnel and work sched.

Anyway, today was his birthday, so I finally pushed through and finished it! It's based on an excerpt of lyrics from Autoclave, by the Mountain Goats.

I dreamt that I was perched atop a throne of human skulls
On a cliff above the ocean, howling wind and shrieking seagulls
And the dream went on forever, one single static frame
