“Oh, how I love the color purple,” stated a snake-like woman as she stared out a large window that overlooked a lifeless city.

Turning from the window, the woman faced toward the large, wooden door that was opening behind her. Her dark well-kept hair flowed eloquently down her back as it trickled down to her serpentine waist. The snake woman slapped her thick tail against the stone floor and growled, “What is it Snu?!”
“My apologies,” said Snu as he stepped into the room. Unlike the woman, Snu’s body was a unique blend of human and reptile. He was scaly all over, had two legs instead of the woman who had just her tail, and he had a fork-like tongue that caused him to hiss as he spoke.
Snu took a few more steps into the hollow room before kneeling in front of the woman and telling her, “Phase one has been completed.”
“Excellent,” she said cheerfully while slithering her way back toward the window. “And what of the man you saw?”
Snu remained in his respectful pose as he replied, “He has yet to return.”
The woman looked all around and observed everything before her. By far, she was in the tallest place around as she had a great view of the setting sun. However, below that, she could see purple fog wafting around the many structures and road systems in the surrounding area.
“Hmm,” she hummed with a bit of a chuckle as she spun back around to face her colleague. “How ironic it is that this so called prison has become a catalyst for my revenge.”
Snu hissed before adding, “Soon this world will come to understand the depths of sorrow which all those who stand against us have made us feel.”
“Our sorrow, Snu?” snarled the snake woman as her red eyes glowed with a frightening shade of yellow. “You may be with me, but you will never know the misery that was bestowed upon me by those who unfaithfully swore their allegiance to my husband and I!”
Snu remained motionless as he responded, “I apologies for my inability to relate.”
“No one can relate with my pain!” she roared as she flopped her tail about and flung out her arms angrily. “They all said they understood how I felt, but they did not! None of them had to go through what I did!”
Snu nodded and said, “Nobody understands the misery you must deal with.”
“How dare they do what they did to me!” she growled. “Their show of concern was nothing more than an elaborate ruse to remove me from power by banishing me and my city to the void!”
“And they will pay,” hissed Snu as a smirk grew upon his reptilian face.
She turned around and raised her hands into the air as she proclaimed, “They shall all pay! And the misery of all those worlds I’ve conquered shall be on their hands!”
Snu’s smirk grew wider as he stated, “They had no clue that you had bonded with the city and its towers of power.”
“Yes,” she said. “My powers have grown exponentially since the day of my exile. Through the towers, I am now able to bring whole worlds to their knees!”
An even more sinister grin formed on the lizard-man’s face as he said, “All should know your pain.”
“All those who have stood against me since that day are now my slaves,” she stated, slithering towards a large stone tablet which featured intricate carvings of various creatures. “Each now exist only to serve me and my goal of returning to my home world and getting revenge on all those who did this to me.”
“Brilliant,” commented Snu who was doing all he could to not show how much he was truly enjoying the snake woman’s plot.
“Now go!” she snapped toward the snake man. “Set the towers for the grand enchantment that will plunge this world into eternal woe!”
Snu stood up, bowed, and said “As you command,” before rushing back out the large door he had come in.
Once her assistant had left, the snake woman slithered her way back toward the window and glared down at the empty city below.
“Soon,” she said with a smile. “The undeserving people of this world will know the misery that is my life! They will all know the misery that it is to be condemned to this city of solitude!”
