If my zwitter elves are magical, I imagine they can grow pretty odd as they age. Either they slowly start using old genes from their ancestors or they just subconsciously wish to be more one with nature. The "magic" will essentially keep them healthy forever, but rather than just grow wrinkly they grow weird. Strong ones who make it to being really old likely amount to a whole little local legend; here seen the "spirit" known as Wanderer.
