Art Attack 6 - The Journey Begins
Are you going to follow her to an awesome adventure?
This pic took me quite a while to draw :'D but I somehow wanted to paint a background again to practice a little. It turned our pretty well I think. ^^ I have 2 more attacks I haven't uploaded here yet.
My thought process:
I actually started with the cat, because I haven't planned doing a full scenery. After I finished coloring it I suddenly wanted to paint a background (don't ask me why xD). So I thought what bg could fit this pose and began to block some basic shapes in. After a few mins of work I had some rock formations and A building in the background. The rest was refining the whole thing until I was happy with it, I expanded the building added more and it became a castle like building and put some more effort in the rock formations. And here it is :D
About the picture:
I put the cat at the foreground of the artwork on a trail (? dunno what it's called in eng) looking back at you. I find it gives the viewer a feeling to be invited, the cat is waiting for you to follow or insure you are still following. She also has a calm look so it doesn't look like she if afraid and fleeing from something. The castle like building gives you a little sneak peak what awaits you further back. I worked with more warm colors at the background to make it look more appealing and not like it's some spooky something. :'D At the foreground I made the colors in she shading more cold so you want to go further to the castle. The birds are there to give it a little more live. ^^
